Saturday NHL action pits the Chicago Blackhawks at the Nashville Predators.
The Chicago Blackhawks are still searching for that winning formula after a 6-5 loss at Winnipeg has the team staring at defeats in four of five. Chicago received scoring from Marcus Kruger, John Hayden, Jan Rutta, Dominik Kahun and Artem Anisimov. Anisimov also had an assist with Corey Crawford giving up all six goals on 33 shots to get the loss for the Blackhawks.
Nikolaj Ehlers paced the Jets offensive explosion with a hat trick while Patik Laine scored twice with Jacob Trouba also reaching the scoring column. Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele posted three helpers each and Connor Hellebuyck recorded 26 stops to pick up the win for Winnipeg.
The Nashville Predators have seen a chink in their armor with losses in three of four following a 3-0 defeat to visiting Arizona on Thursday. Nashville couldn’t mount any offense to make a loser of Pekka Rinne who gave up three goals on 25 shots.
Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz and Brad Richardson provided the Coyotes with scoring with Adin Hill improving to 2-0-0 with a 29 save performance.
Over is 2-0-2 in Blackhawks last 4 road games and over is 3-0-2 in Blackhawks last 5 overall and Blackhawks are 0-6 in their last 6 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. Under is 4-0 in Predators last 4 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and Predators are 5-0 in their last 5 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals and Predators are 7-0 in their last 7 games following a loss of 3 or more goals. Under is 2-0-2 in the last 4 meetings in Nashville and under is 5-0-3 in the last 8 meetings and Blackhawks are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings.
The Predators at high juice does not give us value but Chicago is allowing a ton of goals which should help Nashville get their offense going…
