|Date & Time||Saturday April 7, 2018, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Nashville Predators -138 / Columbus Blue Jackets +121 --- Over/Under: 5.5
Saturday NHL action comes to Bridgestone Arena where the Columbus Blue Jackets visit the Nashville Predators.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have dropped to third in the Metropolitan after a 5-4 OT loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday. Zach Werenski, Matt Calvert, Boone Jenner and Cam Atkinson scored for Columbus and Sergei Bobrovsky allowed five goals on 43 shots to take the loss.
Phil Kessel topped the Pittsburgh attack with a pair of goals including the winner in overtime with Patric Hornqvist, Kris Letang and Conor Sheary also lighting the lamp. Justin Schultz gave the Penguins a pair of helpers and Matt Murray picked up the win with 26 saves.
The Nashville Predators have won the Central but have still played well with nothing at stake. Nashville comes off of a 4-3 victory at Washington where Evegny Kuznetsov scored twice for the Capitals with Alex Ovechkin also lighting the lamp while Philipp Grubauer giving up four goals on 29 shots.
Craig Smith topped the Predators offense with a pair of markers with Roman Josi and Ryan Johansen also finding the back of the net. Kyle Turris and Ryan Ellis supplied Nashville with two assists each to help make a winner of Juuse Saros and his 29 saves.
Over is 5-0 in Blue Jackets last 5 overall and over is 5-0 in Blue Jackets last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and over is 9-0 in Blue Jackets last 9 road games. Predators are 0-4 in their last 4 Saturday games and over is 3-0-1 in Predators last 4 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and under is 4-1 in Predators last 5 Saturday games. Blue Jackets are 4-23 in the last 27 meetings in Nashville.
Blue Jackets are 14-40 in the last 54 meetings.
The Blue Jackets have virtually no success at Nashville but I can’t overlook them in a game the Predators don’t need…
