The Dallas Stars look for a big road victory as they head into the Music City to take on the Nashville Predators on Thursday night.
The Stars look for a statement win against the reigning Western Conference champions as they take on the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night in what should be an entertaining contest between two contrasting styles. Dallas came into the season with a huge expectations as they have some of the bets offensive talents in the NHL and now a goaltender in Ben Bishop who is among the league’s best options when he is playing at the top of his game but on the road against the Predators and Pekka Rinne isn’t exactly the most appealing place to be. Dallas is a paltry 7-20 in their last 27 games against the Central division and with this one being on the road against a Western Conference foe it doesn’t give us a ton of confidence betting on them in this spot.
The Preds meanwhile got their first win of the season against the Flyers in their last outing but they didn’t look great in the process and needed a last minute come back after squandering a big lead just to earn the regulation win. Nashville is coming off a berth in the Stanley Cup final and many had them pegged for another deep playoff run but so far this season they haven’t looked the part and need a big stretch of games to get back in the groove before they will be considered a threat again.
The Stars are 1-7 in their last eight on Thursday and 9-24 in their last 33 road games while the Preds are 8-2 in their last 10 against the Central and 20-7 in their last 27 home games. All of the signs point to the Preds having a strong contest here and while the line isn’t great that’s where we are leaning here.
