Dallas Stars at Nashville Predators

Nashville Predators -150; O/U: 5
The Dallas Stars look to build on their series opening victory on Wednesday night as they face off against the Nashville Predators in the Music City on Saturday.
The Stars played a textbook road playoff game to open the series against the Predators and can now earn a 2-0 advantage heading back home if they can follow suit and repeat the same result on Saturday night in a pivotal Game 2 show down. Dallas has ridden the play of Vezina candidate Ben Bishop in the crease all season long and things were no different on Wednesday night as the Preds has no means of being able to solve Bishop on a consistent enough basis to be competitive and they will need to rectify that concern on Saturday. The Stars are 5-0 in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record and are an impressive 8-2 in their last 10 road games overall which bodes well for them here against the Predators who backed their way into the postseason with some uncharacteristic performances.
The Preds are 10-3 in their last 13 games in the Conference quarter finals but things didn’t look great for them on Wednesday night and will need to go back to the drawing board in a pivotal game 2 contest at home on Saturday. The Preds know they can ill afford to go down 2-0 in the series and head to the road in Dallas for Games 3 and 4 so expect a much better effort from them here, despite the trends sitting with the road team. Nashville is 5-1 in their last 6 games after scoring 2 or fewer goals in their previous outing but they have stumbled to a 4-11 mark in their last 15 games as a favorite at or less than -150 and that is where the line currently sits for them approaching puck drop.
The Stars are 8-3 in their last 11 games against Central division foes and 2-6 in their last 8 Saturday games while the Predators are 5-2 in their last 7 overall and the favorite is 21-9 in the last 30 meetings between these teams. Dallas played very well to open the series and I have them winning in the end but expect a bounce back effort from the Preds who even things up here at home.
