The Stars look to rebound after giving up seven to the Blues last night as they head into Nashville to battle with the Predators.
The Stars were in good shape through 30 minutes against he Blues last night in Dallas but a collapse in the third period led to a 7-5 final for the visitors which basically sealed Dallas' fate if missing out on the playoffs. Dallas has been a big time disappointment this season after garnering a ton of attention in the preseason as a Cup contender but their team defense and goaltending has been atrocious this season and they will have to go back to the drawing board this offseason. Dallas will look to thrive in the spoiler role now for the final week of the season and a road trip into Nashville to face the Preds is the first stop as the Preds look to clinch the Central division.
Nashville has had a big time rebound season after a few years out of the postseason picture and with the additions they have made they look like a team that could go on a serious Cup run. Nashville has a great goaltender in Pekka Rinne and a shut down blue line that is among the best in hockey but it is their offensive game that has made the difference as the likes of James Neal and Filip Forsberg have made a world of difference. The Predators have been ridiculous at home this season and while I am not completely sold on them as a team to emerge out of the West I do see them making a statement here and they should have no trouble with the Stars.
