The Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators host the Florida Panthers in NHL hockey action on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Kings did exactly nothing in back to back 5-0 defeats but they took out their frustration with a 6-3 rout of the Florida Panthers on the road Thursday. Jeff Carter led the Los Angeles attack with a pair of goals with Tyler Toffoli, Tanner Pearson, Dwight King and Dustin Brown also joining the scoring parade while Peter Budaj recorded 36 stops to pick up the victory.  The Panthers offense featured goals off the sticks of Jonathan Marchessault, Jussi Jokinen and Aleksander Barkov but James Reimer got the hook in the first after allowing three goals with Roberto Luongo taking over between the pipes.

The Nashville Predators could use every point they can get so they probably weren’t thrilled to see the New York Rangers who seemed ready to go on a hot streak. The Rangers have looked good and notched win number four in a row with Thursday’s 4-3 victory at MSG. The New York offense received a pair of goals from JT Miller with Chris Kreider and Michael Grabner also finding the back of the net as Henrik Lundqvist improved to 7-1 in his last eight starts in the nets. The Predators offense came from Callie Jamkrok, Cody McLeod and Roman Josi with Juuse Saros recording 26 stops to absorb the loss.

The Panthers are 0-4 in their last 4 road games and the Panthers are 10-1 in their last 11 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals while the under is 6-1 in Panthers last 7 games playing on 1 days rest. The under is 4-0 in Predators last 4 Saturday games and the Predators are 1-5 in their last 6 Saturday games while the over is 4-1 in Predators last 5 vs. Eastern Conference. The under is 2-0-3 in the last 5 meetings and the Panthers are 1-7-1 in the last 9 meetings in Nashville while the under is 3-1-2 in the last 6 meetings in Nashville.

The Predators have generally done well in this match up so they would be my lean…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
