The Line: Nashville Predators +110 / Los Angeles Kings -121 --- Over/Under: 5
The Kings and Predators square off in Nashville as both teams look to improve on their standing thus far as they’re both playing below par.
Despite sitting a game above .500 through their first seven games the LA Kings have to be a bit disappointed in some of the outcomes they have been dealt and against a similar team like Nashville the Kings have to be pretty confident they can come away victorious. Los Angeles is a physical team that is very well balanced at both ends of the rink but they need to do a better job playing against weaker teams and while playing against the Preds in Nashville isn’t exactly a cake walk is a definitely a winnable game. Jonathan Quick has played well on the whole but has had some gaffes along the way and while those are bound to tighten up as the season goes along it can’t become an afterthought when they start impacting the outcome of games.
Nashville appears to be on the decline as they lost some pieces up front over the past few years and lost a cornerstone defenseman last year in Ryan Suter who has done wonders back in Minnesota. While Nashville has a bright future ahead at least on the blue line they’ll need to find ways to generate offense, especially against a team like Los Angeles who has the ability to change their game plan on the fly to disrupt the rhythm of their opponent. I like the Kings in this spot as I think they’re getting good value here on the road and with their balanced offense and strong special teams being what it is I think they’re too much for Nashville on this night.
