The New Jersey Devils look to continue their success in Nashville on Saturday night as they take on the Predators in what is looking like a lopsided affair for the home side.
The Devils have been woeful lately as they have just 7 wins in their last 26 games overall but they have had success playing in one of the tougher buildings in the league against a Preds side who has been greatly lately. New Jersey started the season looking like a group capable of jumping into the playoffs again this year but lately they have looked like a group more likely to be landing a top end draft pick and things don’t get any easier on Saturday. New Jersey has dropped 4 games in a row against Central division opponents and have lost 5 in a row when playing in the back end of a double header and after a home win last night against the Knights they will be in tough on the road in the Music City.
The Predators remain one of the most talented teams in the NHL and are considered a Cup favorite in most circles as they have so much depth from the crease out. Nashville has beaten up on the league’s doormats over the years and have won 6 games in a row against teams from the Metropolitan division and on home ice they should be feeling very confident against a Devils side who went down to the wire against the Knights last night. Nashville is oddly just 4-10 in their last 14 matchups at home against the Devils and the road team is 7-0 in their last 7 showdowns between these sides but are heavy favorites in this spot.
The Devils are 1-4 in their last 5 Saturday games and winless in their last 4 against the Central while the Predators are 19-7 in their last 26 against the Eastern Conference and 40-18 in their last 58 games playing on one day’s rest. New Jersey got a big win last night but that might do it for the weekend as Nashville has no trouble getting a win here.
