The Isles look to shake off an overtime loss in their last outing as they head into Nashville to take on the Predators.
The New York Islanders are one of the hottest teams in the league right now and can continue that push with a statement road win against the Nashville Predators who have also been playing well and are making a playoff push of their own. The Isles have some high end talent in the offensive zone and have been getting some great play out of Thomas Greiss in the pipes but they face off against a stiff Predators defense that is among the best in the Western Conference and is led by the dynamic duo of Shea Weber and Roman Josi. Griess is expected to get the start in the New York crease after sitting out against the Penguins as he will face off against Pekka Rinne.
The Predators meanwhile possess the first wild card spot in the Western Conference and are eight points clear of the Wild for the second and while they are still within reach of the Blackhawks for the third spot in the division but are likely going to land that wild card spot. Nashville has really turned it up since hosting the allstar break and have looked like the contender many anticipated in the preseason and if they can stave off the pack and get into the playoffs they will be a very tough team to beat in a seven game set. Nashville is 17-10-6 at home this season but New York has been solid on the road which sets up a very intriguing matchup. In the end, the total seems like the best bet and the under should cash in without problem.
