The Pittsburgh Penguins look to continue their recent success against he Central division as they head into the Music City to face off with the Predators on Thursday night.

The Penguins continue their chase for home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs as they are in a race with the Islanders and Capitals for top spot in the division and a road win on Thursday would go a long way in helping them get into the division lead. The Penguins have turned things up over the last couple of weeks and look as though they are hitting their stride with the playoffs just around the corner and that is bad news for the rest of the Eastern Conference as they have shown they are capable of going on a deep playoff run. The Penguins are 13-5 in their last 18 meetings against the Predators but they are 1-4 in their last 5 trips to Nashville and will be in tough here against a Preds side who is 5-2 in their last 7 games and are also fighting for a division crown in the Central.

The Predators meanwhile look to continue the trend of the favorite finding success in this series as this trend is currently on an 8-1 run and the odds makers are expecting it continue with the Preds standing as a decent home ice favorite. Nashville is fighting tooth and nail in the Central division and are looking as dangerous as anyone in the Western Conference and at face value this could very well be a Stanley Cup preview as both of these teams have shown they can go on a lengthy playoff run and have the star power it takes to be at the pinnacle of the NHL. Pekka Rinne is expected to get the start as he will face off against Matt Murray.

The Pens are 9-4 in their last 13 against the Central and 2-6 in their last 8 as a road dog while the Preds are 5-2 in their last 7 home games and 4-1 in their last 5 at home against Pittsburgh. The Pens are playing their best hockey of the season and with a ton of value here they send the Preds to a home loss and make things interesting with the season wrapping up very soon.

Pick:
Pittsburgh Penguins +125
