The Line: Nashville Predators -154 / San Jose Sharks +125 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The San Jose Sharks go on the road to face the Nashville Predators in a Thursday NHL matchup.
The San Jose Sharks are second in the Pacific and making Vegas work hard with wins in five of six where both ends of the ice have been on top of their game. San Jose comes off of a 3-2 victory at St. Louis where the Blues received second period goals from Ivan Barbashev and Vladimir Tarasenko.
The Sharks scored three times in the second with Logan Couture, Joonas Donskoi and Mikkel Boedker each lit the lamp. Couture and Boedker also posted assists for the Sharks to make a winner of Martin Jones and his 31 saves. Carter Hutton was charged with the loss for St. Louis with 20 stops.
The Nashville Predators sit atop the Central as the team tries to fend off the Winnipeg Jets. Nashville has won back to back games after downing Detroit 3-2 on Tuesday. The Red Wings saw Andreas Athanasiou score in the second with Tomas Tater scoring in the third.
The Predators scoring came off the sticks of Scott Hartnell and Kyle Turris in the opening period before Viktor Arvidsson score the eventual winner in the third. Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis supplied two assists each and Juuse Saros made 34 saves for Nashville. Jimmy Howard absorbed the loss for Detroit with three goals allowed on 29 shots.
Under is 5-0-1 in Sharks last 6 road games and Sharks are 5-1 in their last 6 overall and Sharks are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Western Conference. Predators are 6-1 in their last 7 in the third game of a 3-in-4 situation and Predators are 5-1 in their last 6 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and Predators are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Pacific. Over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings in Nashville and Sharks are 1-10 in the last 11 meetings in Nashville and under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings.
It’s tough going against San Jose right now but the Predators are no slouch and I’m inclined to back the home team for a small interest…
