The Predators look to avoid falling into an 0-3 hole as they return home to host the Sharks for game three on Tuesday night.
The San Jose Sharks have battled tooth and nail to get to their impressive 6-1 mark through their first seven games of these playoffs and the battle continues in Nashville on Tuesday as they can push the Preds to the brink of elimination with a victory at Bridgestone Arena. The Sharks of year’s gone by would have fallen short after facing adversity but in game two’s victory they responded nicely after conceding a late third period goal as they netted the game winner shortly thereafter and held on for a 3-2 final. Martin Jones continues to get the call in the Sharks crease as he will face off against Pekka Rinne who has been excellent so far in this series and needs a game with some goal support if the Preds are going to play their way back into it.
The Predators have given the Sharks all they can handle through the first two games and are playing them much better than the Kings did in the opening round but at the end of the day they are still down 0-2 heading home for games three and four. Nashville does have a pretty solid roster and have been overlooked as a contender all season long but they are here for a reason and their play at home should help propel them back into the series for at least one night. I like the way Nashville has been playing in this series and at home I think they step it up even more and grab the win on Tuesday night.
