The Nashville Predators look to retake top spot in the Central division as they welcome the Vancouver Canucks to the Music City on Thursday night.

The Canucks play out the string of their regular season before a lengthy offseason as they will fall short of the playoffs, but they have to be happy with the way things went for them this season as they exceeded expectations and have a very bright future. The Canucks take on a Preds side on Thursday though that has picked up steam a little bit since they hit a speed bump a couple of weeks ago and with a 6-3-1 mark in their last 10 games they could very well jump back into top spot in the division with a win here. Vancouver is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win and are 5-2 in their last 7 games against the Western Conference but like most teams they have struggled to win in Nashville and are just 1-4 in their last 5 meetings to Bridgestone Arena.

The Predators meanwhile have beaten up on the league’s also rans this season and are 6-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record and are a heavy favorite to extend that trend here tonight. The Predators made some moves at the trade deadline and while they are going to the playoffs once again this season they have their sights set on home ice advantage and with a strong couple of games to finish off the season and some help they could very well take the Central division crown and avoid a first round matchup with the Winnipeg Jets. Nashville is 23-14-1 at home this season and the crowd at Bridgestone Arena is always exciting to watch and they will play a factor in this one as well.

The Canucks have the Under in 4 straight games against Central division foes and in 21 of their last 29 overall while the Preds are 4-1 in their last 5 against the Pacific and have hit the Over in 6 straight meetings against Vancouver. This one has the feeling of a shootout as the Preds need a win badly while the Canucks are in a nothing to lose mentality which usually results in a lot of chances as this one goes over.
