The Washington Capitals look to shake off a home loss last night to the St. Louis Blues as they travel into the Music City to face off with the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

The Capitals look to shake off their losing ways to the Nashville Predators as the two Stanley Cup contenders meet up at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night with the defending champions looking to shake off last night’s sluggish effort. The Caps are guilty of overlooking the underachieving Blues last night and will need to rebound here in what is a potential statement win game against the Preds who have become one of the toughest teams to beat on home ice. Washington is 1-5 in their last 6 games against Western Conference but they have had success on the road against some of the league’s top home ice teams which certainly trends in their favor here against a very good Nashville Predators team.

The Preds meanwhile have had a ton of success against the Metro division of late as they are 12-5 in their last 17 tries and they have 4 straight games against some of the league’s best teams as they seem to elevate their game to match the level of their opponent. Nashville has one of the best blue lines in the entire NHL led by PK Subban, Roman Josi, and Ryan Ellis and they will need all 3 of them and then some to contain the high flying Capitals offense that was held in check to just a single goal last night. The Predators are 5-0 in their last 5 games against the Capitals and are 5-1 in their last 6 meetings in Nashville which is why the odds makers have Nashville as a relatively sizeable favorite in this spot.

The Caps are 6-2 in their last 8 Tuesday games and 29-11 in their last 40 road games while the Predators are 4-0 in their last 4 games after returning from a week long road trip and have hit the Over in 4 of their last 5 against the Metro. Washington is getting a ton of value here against a Preds side that has been inconsistent but Nashville has too much depth defensively as they get the win at home.
