Winnipeg Jets (59-23-11) at Nashville Predators (60-23-11)
|Date & Time||Thursday May 10, 2018, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Nashville Predators -150 / Winnipeg Jets +130 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Nashville Predators welcome the Winnipeg Jets to Bridgestone Arena for game seven of their series in Thursday NHL action.
The Winnipeg Jets have looked unstoppable at the offensive end of the ice against Nashville at times but not in game six where the Predators turned to their defense and skated away with a 4-0 victory. In the process, Winnipeg failed to clinch a spot in the conference finals and are forced to a game seven at Nashville.
In the Jets three wins the offense has generated 17 goals but despite 34 shots in game six on Monday the vaunted Winnipeg attack came up empty. Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck could not win on his own with three goals given up on 28 shots.
Victor Arvidsson topped the Predators attack with his first period tally just 62 seconds in while also adding an empty netter with 4:02 remaining.
Filip Forsberg also scored twice with goals in the second and third while also adding an assist for Nashville. Arvidsson also logged an assist for the Preds with Roman Josi and Ryan Johansen each adding a pair of helpers to make a winner of Pekka Rinne who improved to 7-5 with his 34 save performance.
Under is 4-0 in Jets last 4 following a loss of 3 or more goals and Jets are 4-0 in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and Jets are 1-5 in their last 6 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals. Predators are 4-0 in their last 4 Thursday games and Predators are 0-5 in their last 5 games following a win and Predators are 4-1 in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest. Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Nashville.
Nashville wants to keep the scoreboard from lighting up and avoid a track meet on ice with the high octane Jets. Right now I’ll side with the over but update as game time approaches…
