East coast NHL action finds the Anaheim Ducks visiting the New Jersey Devils.

The struggling Anaheim Ducks broke in to the win column with a 3-0 victory at Minnesota on Thursday to end an eleven game slide. Minnesota did fire off 43 shots with Alex Stalock giving up three goals on 12 shots to get the loss with Devan Dubnyk stopping 16 shots in relief.

Adam Henrique, Rickard Rakell and Brian Gibbons all scored first period goals for the Ducks. Anaheim saw Brandon Montour add a pair of helpers and John Gibson recorded a monster 43 saves to pick up the win.

The New Jersey Devils have followed a two game winning streak with back to back defeats after a 4-1 loss at the NY Islanders on Thursday. Andy Greene tallied in the third period for the Devils with Mackenzie Blackwood giving up three goals on 25 shots to get the loss.

Anders Lee paced New York with goals in the first and third with Michael Del Colle and Jordan Eberle lighting the lamp in the third. Nick Leddy logged two helpers and Robin Lehner stopped 16 shots for the Islanders.

Ducks are 0-7 in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference and Ducks are 0-5 in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Ducks are 0-12 in their last 12 overall. Devils are 0-5 in their last 5 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation and Devils are 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and under is 6-1 in Devils last 7 Saturday games. Over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings and under is 7-1-1 in the last 9 meetings in New Jersey and Ducks are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.

These type of games seem to be more of a guess then anything and I’m just being honest…

Mark’s Pick Anaheim +112

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place site consensus.
