The New Jersey Devils welcome the Arizona Coyotes to town for an NHL tilt on Saturday.
The Arizona Coyotes playoff drive has been put on hold with three consecutive defeats after a 4-2 loss at Florida on Thursday. The Coyotes received a first period goal from Michael Grabner with Brad Richardson scoring unassisted in the third. Richardson added an assist for Arizona and Darcy Kuemper gave up three goals on 20 shots to get the loss.
Aleksander Barkov scored twice for the Panthers with Mike Hoffman and Mackenzie Weegar also adding markers. Evgenii Dadonov assisted twice and Jonathan Huberdeau logged three helpers and Roberto Luongo got the win with 32 stops.
The New Jersey Devils look for a return to the win column after a 5-1 loss to visiting Boston on Thursday that saddled the team with three straight defeats. Drew Stafford lit the lamp for the Devils in the second period that narrowed Boston’s lead to 2-1. Pavel Zacha assisted and Cory Schneider was charged with four goals on 25 shots to get the loss.
The Bruins saw Patrice Bergeron score twice with David Pastrnak, Danton Heinen and David Backes finding the scoring column. Brad Marchand posted three helpers for Boston and Tuukka Rask getting the win a 21 save effort.
Coyotes are 7-3 in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest and Coyotes are 45-92 in their last 137 road games and Coyotes are 8-17 in their last 25 vs. Eastern Conference.
Devils are 23-48 in their last 71 overall and Devils are 2-5 in their last 7 vs. Pacific and Devils are 1-5 in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest.
Coyotes are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in New Jersey and Coyotes are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings and favorite is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
If Arizona wants to make the playoffs they better start winning a game at least. Having said this I have no interest in either side…
