The Sabres look for their second straight win as they take to the road to face Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils.
The Sabres have had an awful start to the season and things aren’t likely to change any time soon but they have found success against the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as they defeated them for the second time in two weeks last night in Buffalo. The Sabres are bound for a top end draft pick and have already cleaned house in the front office and behind the bench but that hasn’t changed the on ice product and I don’t see the Sabres doing a lot this year. They take to the road to face the Devils who will be going with hall of fame goaltender Marty Brodeur in this one while the Sabres who are in a back to back will likely give Ryan Miller the night off and go with Jhonas Enroth.
The Devils are coming off a victory of their own last night as they went into Raleigh and pasted the Hurricanes by a 3-2 mark pushing the Devils into 4th place in the Metro division as their sixth win in 10 games. New Jersey was a team many expected to struggle this year but they have actually played pretty well of late and have some good players on their roster which can’t be said for the Sabres as they’re in a full on rebuild for the next few years. It is ludicrous to me that the Devils are this heavy of a favourite considering both teams are playing without rest but it is the Devils who should come away with a win and I think it is worth laying the puck line for extra value. Take the Devils here.
