The Buffalo Sabres pay a visit to the New Jersey Devils in Monday NHL action.
The slumping Buffalo Sabres come off of a 7-4 loss at Montreal on Saturday night. Sam Reinhart, Alexander Nylander, Marco Scandella and Jack Eichel scored for the Sabres. Eichel also posted an assist and Carter Hutton was charged with six goals on 43 shots.
Brendan Gallagher led Montreal with a pair of markers with Arturri Lehkonen, Andrew Shaw, Paul Byron, Max Domi and Tomas Tater lighting the lamp. Tater, Domi and Phillip Daneault added two helpers each for the Canadiens and Carey price gave up four goals on 27 shots to get the win.
The New Jersey Devils snapped a three game skid with a 2-1 SO victory against visiting Arizona on Saturday. Oliver Ekman-Larsson gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead in the first and Conor Garland scored in the shootout. Darcy Kuemper stopped 31 shots for Arizona to salvage a point and drop to 24-18-6.
Drew Stafford scored in the opening period for the Devils while Blake Coleman and Pavel Zacha netted goals in the SO. Mackenzie Blackwood recorded 23 stops to pick up the win for New Jersey to up his record to 7-9.
Sabres are 16-35 in their last 51 overall and Sabres are 27-62 in their last 89 road games and Sabres are 8-24 in their last 32 vs. Eastern Conference.
Devils are 39-17 in their last 56 games as a home favorite and Devils are 17-36 in their last 53 vs. Eastern Conference and Devils are 3-10 in their last 13 overall.
Sabres are 3-11 in the last 14 meetings and Sabres are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in New Jersey and under is 37-17-7 in the last 61 meetings.
