The Los Angeles Kings go to Newark, New Jersey to take on the New Jersey Devils on Saturday at the Prudential Center. The Kings are coming off of a three-game losing streak, losing to the Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals, and the New York Islanders in their last game. The Kings have gone two separate losing streaks in their previous five games, only defeating the Arizona Coyotes in their previous five games.
The Kings are 19-31-5 on the season and are in the last place in the Pacific Division. The Kings are one of the worst teams in all of the NHL, struggling on both sides of the ice. Los Angeles is 29th in the NHL in goals scored and 24th in goals allowed.
The New Jersey Devils are coming off of a win over the Philadelphia Flyers in a shocking win as the Devils dominated the Flyers in a 5-0. The win snapped a three-game losing streak, losing to the Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars, and the Montreal Canadiens in their last game in a shootout loss.
The New Jersey Devils are 19-24-10 on the season with a home record of 7-9-10 this season. The Devils are eighth in the Metropolitan Division and have not been great on either side of the ice this season. The Devils are currently 25th in goals and 30th in goals allowed this season. The Devils have found this season to be dreadful, and they will be without their star player P.K. Subban who will likely be out in this game with an illness.
Los Angeles is 29-26 ATS this season
Kings are 27-56 in their last 83 overall.
New Jersey is 25-28 ATS this season
Devils are 7-19 in their last 26 home games.
This will be a battle of two of the worst teams and all of the NHL. Neither team is exceptionally good on offense or defense, but the New Jersey Devils are a bit better on offense while the Los Angeles Kings are a bit better on defense. If P.K. Subban can play in this game, I think that the New Jersey Devils have the advantage, but if not, this one's a toss-up. I'm going to pick the New Jersey Devils due to the possibility of Subban playing, and the fact that they dominated the Philadelphia Flyers win their last game, maybe showing the sign of hope. Final Score Prediction, New Jersey Devils win 4-2.
