The Predators look to end their three game losing streak on Tuesday as they continue their road trip in New Jersey against the Devils.
The Predators lost their third game in a row last night as they dropped a 4-1 decision to the New York Rangers which marked their first three game slide of the season and now they'll look to stop the bleeding with a trip into New Jersey to face the Devils. Nashville did make some moves at yesterday's trade deadline but nothing too significant and nothing that will shake the dynamic of their team so I think the approach for them is just to go out and continue playing the way they have all season and not panic that their grasp on the division lead is slipping and take things one game at a time. Nashville was out matched last night against a very good Rangers team but they get a shot at redemption here as the Devils nine points back of a playoff spot and will be in tough to stay competitive down the stretch.
New Jersey has had great team success on defense and a large part of that goes to the play of goaltender Corey Schneider who deserves more recognition for his efforts in the New Jersey crease but their offense has been dreadful and ranks in the bottom five of the league statistics. The Devils have enjoyed a stronger second half of the season but in this spot against a Predators team surely to be furious with the way they have been playing of late it may prove difficult to grab two points and even more so to score goals against them even with Cater Hutton getting the call. The Preds should have no issues getting back in the win column and this game will stay under the number.
