The New York Islanders take the ice at the New Jersey Devils in an NHL tilt.

The New York Islanders have lost three of four following a 3-1 loss at Boston on Tuesday. Jordan Eberle scored the lone New York goal in the second period with Robin Lehner allowing two goals on 26 shots to get the loss.

Patrice Bergeron led Boston with a first period goal and an empty net tally in the third while Peter Cehlarik scored the winner in the third. Brad Marchand gave the Bruins two assists and Tuukka Rask made 28 saves to get the win.

The New Jersey Devils are in need of a prolonged winning streak but will have to wait another day following a 5-1 loss to the LA Kings on Tuesday. Pavel Zacha scored for the Devils in the second with Keith Kinkaid getting the loss with five goals allowed on 25 shots.

Tyler Toffoli led the Kings with a pair of tallies with Dion Phaneuf, Ilya Kovalchuk and Adrian Kempe also reaching the scoring column. Anze Kopitar added three helpers for Los Angeles and Jack Campbell picked up the win with 29 stops.

Islanders are 5-1 in their last 6 games as a road underdog and Islanders are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite and Islanders are 9-3 in their last 12 road games. Devils are 2-5 in their last 7 overall and Devils are 2-5 in their last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Devils are 3-8 in their last 11 vs. Metropolitan. slanders are 19-7 in the last 26 meetings and favorite is 14-5 in the last 19 meetings and over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in New Jersey.

I thing the Islanders play with a sense of urgency and get two points on the road…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
