The Prudential Center and the New Jersey Devils host the New York Rangers in Thursday NHL action.
The New York Rangers are looking to move up the Metropolitan standings and have been taking care of business with three straight wins after downing the Anaheim Ducks behind dominant performances at both ends of the ice. The Ducks only goal came in the third off the stick of Ondrej Kase with John Gibson allowing all four goals on 32 shots.
New York received a pair of goals from Paul Carey with Kevin Hayes and Michael Grabner also lighting the lamp. David Desharnais and Nick Holden provided the Rangers with two assists apiece to give Henrik Lundqvist plenty of support. Lundqvist recorded 39 saves and improved to 17-8-2.
The New Jersey Devils are looking to maintain their grip on the second spot in the Metropolitan and have been doing their part with wins in three of four after downing the visiting Anaheim Ducks 5-3 on Monday night. The Ducks offense saw Ryan Getzlaf, Jakob Silfverberg and Adam Henrique score with Josh Manson posting two assists. while Ryan Miller absorbed the loss with 29 stops.
Stefan Noesen scored the game winner and an empty netter for the Devils with Miles Wood also finding the back of the net two times. Jesper Bratt also scored for New Jersey with Brian Boyle totaling three helpers to make a winner Cory Schneider and his 21 stops.
