The New Jersey Devils welcome the Ottawa Senators to town in Friday NHL action.
The Ottawa Senators are shooting for consecutive victories following a 4-3 OT win against visiting Nashville on Tuesday. Roman Josi topped Nashville with a pair of goals with Craig Smith also lighting the lamp. Ryan Johansen added three helpers and Pekka Rinne gave up thee goals on eleven shots for the Predators before Juuse Saros stopped 11-12in relief.
Maxime Lajoie, Brady Tkachuk and Ryan Dzingel lit the lamp in the first period for the Senators with Thomas Chabot netting the overtime winner. Dzingel also had an assist and Mark Stone added a pair of helpers to lift Ottawa and make the 31 stops of Craig Anderson a winner.
The New Jersey Devils have been in a bit of a funk with losses in five of six after a 2-1 loss at Columbus on Thursday. Taylor Hall scored in the second for New Jersey with Kyle Palmieri assisting while Makenzie Blackwood allowed two goals on 38 shots to get the loss.
Columbus received a first period goal from Nick Foligno with Cam Atkinson scoring unassisted in the second for a 2-0 advantage. Sergei Bobrovsky picked up the win for the Blue Jackets with 29 stops.
