The Islanders return home for their first playoff game in Brooklyn as they welcome the Panthers to town for game three on Sunday.
The Florida Panthers look for their second win in as many games and aim to retake home ice advantage from the Isles when the two sides meet up in a pivotal game three on Sunday at the Barclay’s Center. The Cats stormed back with a strong effort in game two after dropping a back and forth affair in the series opener and now aim to take the lead with a follow up performance in this one but with a loud crowd expected in New York the Panthers know they need to take the energy out of the building early and scoring the first goal would be massive for them. Roberto Luongo and Thomas Greiss are expected to be the starting goaltenders as they have been for the first two games thus far.
The Islanders stormed out of the gates to start the series and while they almost let a game one lead slip out of their grasp they showed some great resolve and held on for a big 5-4 win to kick things off. However, Florida rallied back and now head into New York with momentum and with such a great balance on their roster of veteran and youth impact players the Cats are in great shape and should be able to weather the storm in New York. The building will be loud but I think the Panthers get an early jump and I like them to get the victory in a very tight game on Sunday.
