The Isles look to build off of a big win in Ottawa last night as they return home to host the Flyers on Saturday night.
The Philadelphia Flyers head into Brooklyn on Saturday looking to shake off a two game losing streak and get back in the mix for an Eastern Conference playoff spot as they have fallen to seventh in the Metro and are eight points back of the Isles for third. Philly looked as though they were turning a corner but have since fallen back to their old form and could be out of luck for a playoff spot this season and instead could send some pieces out the door at the end of February and be in a good spot to land a top end draft pick. Steve Mason will get the call as he will go up against Jaroslav Halak.
The Islanders are coming off a 5-2 win in Ottawa last night and can retake the second seed in the Metro with a victory in this one and with a 15-7-3 mark at home they are favoured here to grab their 16th win at the Barclay’s Center. New York has a ton of offensive fire power and while the Flyers have shown they can go toe to toe with some of the league’s best I just don’t see them matching up well here as the Isles are more complete top to bottom. New York gets the win at home and send Philly to their third loss in a row.
