What a win it was for the New York Islanders on Friday night. They trailed multiple times against the Pittsburgh Penguins but rallied in the third period for a 4-3 victory. Frans Nielsen's sixth goal of the season tied the game at 2-2 with under eight minutes remaining in the game but the Penguins answered back just 16 seconds later to regain the lead. It wouldn't dishearten the Islanders however as they bounced right back and evened things again on a goal by Pierre-Marc Bouchard less than a minute later. With under two minutes to play in regulation it was Josh Bailey scoring the deciding goal to give the Islanders the huge comeback win. Now they head home to take on a Flyers club that just can't score. They found a way to win a 2-1 hockey game on Thursday night against a New York Rangers club that's struggling just as much as they are offensively, but now they're going to need to find a way to put some more pucks in the net. Two goals isn't going to cut it against this Islanders club that really has a lot of firepower. Steve Mason has been excellent for Philadelphia in goal this year but he can't do everything by himself. Philadelphia needs to jump out to an early lead in this one or it could be a rough night.
