Pittsburgh Penguins (6-2-2) at New York Islanders (6-4-1)
|Date & Time||Thursday November 1, 2018, 7:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: New York Islanders +135 / Pittsburgh Penguins -165 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Pittsburgh Penguins take the ice at the New York Islanders in a Thursday NHL tilt.
The New York Islanders extended their winning streak to three games in an easier then expected 6-3 victory at Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. On the flip side the Penguins saw a four game winning streak come to an abrupt halt.
Pittsburgh received a pair of first period tallies from Dominik Simon and Sydney Crosby with Evgeni Malkin scoring in the third. Crosby also had an assist with Jamie Oleksiak adding a pair of helpers for the Pens. Matt Murray absorbed the loss for Pittsburgh with four goals allowed on nine shots before Casey DeSmith gave up two goals on 16 shots in relief.
The Islanders received a pair of goals from Jordan Eberle with Andrew Ladd, Brock Nelson, Matt Martin and Tom Kuhnhackl also reaching the scoring column.
Ryan Pulock, Nick Leddy and Matthew Barzal each gave New York two assists to make the 23 save effort of Robin Lehner a winner.
Over is 6-0 in Penguins last 6 in the second game of a home-and-home situation and Penguins are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals and Penguins are 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Islanders are 6-0 in their last 6 vs. Metropolitan and under is 7-0 in Islanders last 7 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and under is 4-0 in Islanders last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in New York and Penguins are 39-19 in the last 58 meetings.
I’m probably staying away from this but most are thinking Pittsburgh bounces back. I wouldn’t pay to find out…
