The Lightning look to take a stranglehold on the Eastern Conference final and head back to New York with a chance at winning the series while the visiotrs look to even things up with a game four victory.
The new York Rangers got themselves into a shootout with the league's best offense in game three and while they almost pulled out the win they were dealt a tough blow in overtime as Nikita Kucherov buried the game winner and the sixth of the night on Henrik Lundqvist. The Blue Shirts now find themselves in a tough spot as they run the risk of going down 3-1 yet again after suffering the same fate against the Capitals but if there is any team you can't count out until the very end it is the Rangers who continue to prove why they are one of the best teams in the league. Lundqvist likely would have wanted the game winner back as it was a softy but his standards and while Cam Talbot is a suitable replacement I don't imagine the Rangers will turn to him knowing how dominant Lundqvist can be.
The Lightning meanwhile are in a great spot as they retain home ice advantage heading into game four and if they can get their third win in a row they would be in a nice spot heading back to New York and be within a single victory of advancing to their first Cup final since 2004. The Bolts have the Rangers reeling at the moment as they have put up back to back six-goal efforts which against Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers defense is unheard of and if things continue to play out this way with a number of goals being scored it is clearly in Tampa's favour. While I don't see 11 goals on the board this time around I do think Tampa continues to find ways to score and I see them putting New York against the wall again with a big time game four victory.
