Tuesday NHL action features the New York Rangers hosting the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes stayed hot Sunday with a 6-3 victory win against visiting Nashville for their 7thwin in eight contests. Filip Forsberg scored twice for Nashville with Colton Sissons also finding the back of the net. Roman Josi had a pair of helpers for the Predators while Pekka Rinne giving up five goals on 20 shots before Juuse Saros stopped 13 shots in relief.

Sebastian Aho led the Hurricanes with a hat trick with Saku Maenalanen, Lucas Wallmark and Justin Williams supplying goals. Teuvo Teravainen and Micheal Ferland assisted two times for Carolina and Petr Mrazek recorded 20 saves to pick up the win.

The New York Rangers were outscored 7-5 at Columbus on Sunday and have dropped six of seven. New York saw Mats Zuccarello score twice with Ryan Strome, Chris Kreider, and Jimmy Vesey each lighting the lamp. Alexandar Georgiev was charged with all seven goals on 41 shots to get the loss for the Rangers.

Nick Foligno topped the Blue Jackets offensive explosion with a pair of markers with Artemi Panarin, Anthony Duclair, Cam Atkinson, Lukas Sedlak and David Savard all finding the back of the net. Sergei Bobrovski stopped 21-26 shots for Columbus to pick up the win.

Hurricanes are 5-0 in their last 5 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation and Hurricanes are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Metropolitan and Hurricanes are 7-1 in their last 8 overall. Rangers are 0-6 in their last 6 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game and Rangers are 0-4 in their last 4 home games and Rangers are 1-6 in their last 7 overall. Over is 3-0-2 in the last 5 meetings in New York and over is 5-1-2 in the last 8 meetings and Hurricanes are 5-24-1 in the last 30 meetings in New York.

The Hurricanes have the momentum and are likely the winner but in an effort to avoid the juice I think an over play is an option…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
