The New York Rangers welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets to town for a Thursday NHL tilt.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are riding the momentum of a four game winning streak after downing New Jersey 3-0 on the road Sunday. New Jersey ran in to a hot goalie with Keith Kinkaid allowing three goals on eleven shots before Mackenzie Blackwood stopped nine shots in relief.
Cam Atkinson and Oliver Bjorkstrand scored first period goals for Columbus with Artemi Panarin scoring in the second. Panarrin also had an assist and Sergei Bobrovsky brushed aside 39 shots to get the win for the Blue Jackets.
The New York Rangers have been in a bit of a funk with losses in five of six after a 3-2 SO defeat to visiting Philadelphia on Sunday. Chris Kreider and Boo Nieves lit the lamp for New York but the team did not score in the shootout and the 39 saves of Henrik Lundqvist salvaged a point.
The Flyers saw Michael Raffl score in the second with Wayne Simmonds lighting the lamp in the third on the power play. Nolan Patrick scored the only goal of the shootout in the 4thround while Michal Neuvirth won it for Philadelphia with 32 saves.
Under is 4-0 in Blue Jackets last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Blue Jackets are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and Blue Jackets are 4-0 in their last 4 overall. Under is 6-1 in Rangers last 7 Thursday games and Rangers are 1-5 in their last 6 overall and over is 5-1 in Rangers last 6 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in New York and over is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings.
I’ll go with the hotter team in the Blue jackets with a lean to the over…
