Detroit Red Wings (29-20-10) at New York Rangers (33-19-6)
|Date & Time||Sunday February 21, 2016, 7:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: New York Rangers -167 / Detroit Red Wings +140 --- Over/Under:
The Rangers look to stay red hot and build on their victory over the Maple Leafs their last time out as they face off against the Red Wings at MSG on Sunday.
The Detroit Red Wings look to make up some ground in the Atlantic division with a victory on Sunday as they face off against their Original Six rivals at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon and with a win the Wings can jump into a tie for second spot in the Atlantic with the Boston Bruins. Detroit has been in the mix for most of the season and have a great shot at getting back into the postseason once again but they have been rather quiet with a 29-20-10 mark and haven’t had anyone really step up as the go to source of offense this season which accounts for their underwhelming goal output that sits at just 151 through 59 games. The Wings are coming off a loss against the Sens yesterday and will be out to regain those points against a very good home ice team in New York.
The Rangers meanwhile are 7-2-1 in their last 10 contests and have second place in the Metro all to themselves at the moment as we approach the final stretch of the regular season. New York is coming off a 4-2 win on the road against the Maple Leafs and will look to build on the three points cushion they have on the Islanders for home ice in the opening round and with the trade deadline just around the corner the Blue Shirts could be front and center in terms of making a move as they are still a piece away from being able to compete with the Capitals. This should be an exciting contest but with the way the Rangers play at home and the Wings in a back to back I have to side with New York here in a game I will likely stay away from
