Eastern Conference NHL action features the NY Rangers hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.

The Detroit Red Wings squeezed by the visiting NY Islanders 2-1 on Saturday to snap a four game slide. Anders Lee found the back of the net for the Islanders in the first period. Brock Nelson and Devon Toews supplied assists for New York and Thomas Greiss stopped 20 shots to get the loss.

The Red Wings saw Andreas Athanisiou score three minutes in and again at the midway point of the third period. Danny DeKeyser logged a pair of helpers for Detroit and Jonathan Bernier made 41 saves to pick up the win.

The New York Rangers have dropped ten of eleven following a 5-2 defeat at Minnesota on Saturday. Mika Zibanejad and Pavel Buchnevich found the back of the net for New York while Henrik Lundqvist gave up four goals on 45 shots to get the loss.

Ryan Donato scored twice in the first for the Wild with Eric Staal, Jared Spurgeon and JT Brown adding markers. Minnesota saw 12 players record points and Devan Dubnyk stopped 26 shots to get the win.
