The New York Rangers welcome the Florida Panthers to Madison Square Garden in a Tuesday NHL tilt.

The Florida Panthers are looking for their second win of 2018-19 after falling short in a 3-2 overtime loss versus Detroit on Saturday. Florida took a 2-0 first period lead on goals from Keith Yandle, Mike Hoffman and Nick Bjugstad with Michael Hutchinson falling to 1-0-2 with four goals given up on 31 shots.

The Red Wings offense produced three second period goals off the sticks of Dennis Cholowski, Thomas Vanek and Dylan Larkin in regulation with Gustav Nyquist potting the winner in OT. Frans Nielsen logged two assists and Jimmy Howard got the win for Detroit with a 34 save effort.

The New York Rangers search for consistency has to wait another day following a 4-1 defeat to Calgary on Sunday. Mika Zibanjad tallied on the power play in the third period while Henrik Lundqvist absorbed the loss for the Rangers with four goals scoring on 26 shots.

The Flames saw Johnny Gaudreau and Garnet Hathaway each scored twice as the lead was 3-0 before the Rangers got on the scoreboard. Calgary received 44 saves from David Rittich who upped his record to 2-0-0.
