The New York Rangers welcome the Los Angeles Kings to town for a Monday NHL tilt.

The Los Angeles Kings fell 4-2 at the New York Islanders on Saturday and were denied back to back wins. Anze Kopitar scored in the first and Ilya Kovalchuk lit the lamp in the third for the Kings. Kopitar also assisted and Dustin Brown added a pair of helpers for Los Angeles who received 28 saves from Jonathan Quick.

New York received scoring off the sticks of Casey Cizikas, Matthew Barzal, Michael Dal Colle and Brock Nelson. Ryan Pulock added three assists and Robin Lehner picked up the win for the Islanders with 34 stops.

The New York Rangers have dropped two of three following a 3-2 loss against visiting Tampa Bay on Saturday. Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes supplied markers for the Rangers and Mika Zibanejadposted two assists. Henrik Lundqvist absorbed the loss for New York with three goals allowed on 23 shots to fall to 16-13-7.

Yanni Gourde, Erik Cernak and Steven Stamkos found the back of the net for Tampa Bay. Six players recorded points for Lightning and Louis Domingue picked up the win with a 31 save performance.

Kings are 1-8 in their last 9 vs. Eastern Conference and Kings are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Metropolitan and over is 4-1 in Kings last 5 vs. Metropolitan. Rangers are 5-1 in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and under is 12-3-1 in Rangers last 16 Monday games and Rangers are 3-9 in their last 12 home games. Home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and over is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings.

I’d go small on the Rangers or take a shot at the over and avoid the juice…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
