Two of the league's best meet up in New York on Wednesday as Carey Price and the Canadiens head into MSG to battle Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers.
The Montreal Canadiens face their stiffest test of the season on Wednesday as they travel to the Big Apple to face off against the New York Rangers in what is a match up of the two best teams in the East and two of the best in the entire NHL. The Habs have been flawless since Carey Price returned from injury and you can bet that in a show case against an Original Six rival and one of the league's best teams and goaltenders at the other end of the rink that he will show up big and give his team a chance to win. The Habs were able to stay hot when Price was out and while Mike Condon fell apart a little bit at the end of his starting tenure he was more than serviceable and has the Canadiens sporting the biggest division lead in the league at nine points.
The Rangers have been lights out at home this season as they are 10-1-1 at MSG and if they can continue their impressive play they would have to be considered the favourites to emerge out of the Eastern Conference. New York is loaded with talent at both ends of the ice and to me they are a shade better than Montreal and if these teams match up in a seven game set for the Eastern Conference title it would make for some very exciting hockey and display two of the world's best net minders. As for this one though I do think the home ice advantage continues for the Rangers and that they get the best of Montreal in the game of the night.
