The Rangers and Predators meet up at Madison Square Garden on Monday as two of the league's best goaltenders go head to head.
The Nashville Predators look to shake off a tough road loss against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday as they skate into MSG to battle another league power in the Rangers. The loss dropped the Preds to 11-5-3 on the season which has them locked into fourth place in the Central at the moment but they are more than capable of rebounding after two losses to grab a win on the road against one of the league's top teams though it will be tough. The Predators are 4-4-1 on the road this season and will need a special team effort here to upend the Rangers who are an impressive 9-1-1 at home. Pekka Rinne will get the nod for Nashville as he will go up against Henrik Lundqvist.
The Rangers are taking care of business once again this season as they look to get back to the Stanley Cup final after a premature exit last season left them with a lengthy summer filled with uncertainty. The Blue Shirts have stormed out of the gates with a 15-3-2 mark which has them sitting in third place in the overall standings and second in the East behind the Montreal Canadiens in what is looking like a preview of the Eastern Conference final this season if things stay the same. New York as mentioned is ridiculous at home and while Nashville is too good to drop three straight games that is their fate here as New York should get the win at a reasonable home price.
