The Predators look to end a mini two game slide and extend their lead in the Central division as they take to the road to MSG to face off against the New Yrok Rangers.
The predators have been as consistent as they come this season and even when Pekka Rinne was sidelined with an injury the team didn't skip a beat as they have risen to the top of the league standings but after a two game losing streak they are starting to feel that grip slip. Nashville currently sits just four points up on the St. Louis Blues for top spot in the division and there are a handful of other teams in the mix for the top spot in the league standings including their opponents tonight who are two points back of the Isaldners for the lead in the Metro division. Nashville could be very active during today's trade deadline and bring in a couple of pieces to help them compete with the league's elite but with the roster they have that has gotten them to this point I don’t imagine they will want to change much and fix what isn't broken. Rinne will get the start as he will go up against Cam Talbot who continues to fill in for the injured Henrik Lundqvist.
The Rangers meanwhile have been one of the league's best teams since Christmas and have sky rocketed in the Metro division standings and are now neck and neck with their cross town rivals for the right to claim the division crown. New York will also receive a boost heading into the final stretch and the playoffs when they get Lundqvist back and with the way he has carried himself on the ice over the years you know the Rangers will be a tough out come playoff time and they could very well return to the Stanley Cup finals. New York are slight favourites here and I think are in a good place to grab a win as the Preds are starting the front end of a back to back and will get sent to their third straight loss here.
