Saturday NHL action pits the New Jersey Devils against the New York Rangers.

The New Jersey Devils have shown some life of late with wins in three of four after shutting down visiting Ottawa 4-0 on Thursday. The Senators couldn’t get their offense going and Anders Nilsson struggled in the nets with four goals allowed on 31 shots.

Travis Zajac, Steven Santini, Kurtis Gabriel and Miles Wood lit the lamp for New Jersey. Wood logged an assist and Will Butcher posted two helpers and Cory Schneider picked up the win for the Devils with a 30 save effort.

The New York Rangers were denied back to back wins. In a 4-1 loss against visiting Minnesota on Thursday. Pavel Buchnevich scored a second period power play goal for New York and Henrik Lundqvist took the loss with three goals allowed on 34 shots.

Jared Spurgeon, Mikael Granlund, Zach Parise and Jordan Greenway supplied markers for Minnesota. Eric Staal and Ryan Donato added two helpers each for the Wild who saw Devan Dubnyk pick up the win with 33 stops.
Devils are 2-5 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and Devils are 4-10 in their last 14 vs. Metropolitan and Devils are 1-5 in their last 6 games following a win.

Rangers are 18-38 in their last 56 vs. Metropolitan and Rangers are 2-5 in their last 7 home games and Rangers are 5-17 in their last 22 games following a loss of 3 or more goals.

Home team is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings and over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

Eight of the last ten meetings have been decided by one goal so I’d go with the better odds or do nothing in a coin flip…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
