The Ottawa Senators come off of a 5-2 loss to visiting Tampa Bay on Monday. Brady Thachuk tallied in the first for the Senators with Max Veronneau lighting the lamp in the third. Craig Anderson was charged with all five goals on 26 shots to get the loss for Ottawa to fall to 17-25-4.
Yanni Gourde topped Tampa Bay with two goals with Brayden Point, Mikhail Sergachev and Steven Stamkos adding markers. Nikita Kucherov posted three helpers for the Lightning and Andrei Vasilevskiy picked up the win with 22 stops.
The New York Rangers were denied a third consecutive win in a 4-2 defeat at New Jersey on Monday. New York saw scoring off the sticks of Brett Howden and Filip Chytill and Henrik Lundqvist absorbed the loss with three goals allowed on 40 shots.
Miles Wood and Travis Zajac lit the lamp in the first for the Devils while Connor Carrick and Joey Anderson tallied in the third. Carrick and Zajac logged helpers for New Jersey and Mackenzie Blackwood stopping 30 shots to get the win.
