The Ottawa Senators look to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference final with a big road win on Tuesday night as they take on a desperate Rangers team who is playing for their Cup lives in what should be a very entertaining contest at Madison Square Garden. The Sens won both games on home ice to start the series including a double overtime thriller last Saturday and now they have a shot at booking their ticket to the Eastern Conference final but they face a Rangers team who has won four games in a row at home and will be throwing all they can at the Sens who looked lost in both games on the road in this series. The Sens fought hard to play their way back into their game five victory but they know they are in tough here as New York has been the better of the two teams in this series despite trailing 3-2 and with the home crowd on their side in this one the Blue Shirts are going to come out firing.
The Rangers meanwhile need to shake off a tough overtime loss in a game they should have won and now they are in do or die territory as a loss on home ice will spell the end of their playoff dreams and send them to another early playoff exit. New York as mentioned has been the better of the two teams throughout the first five games of this series but they need to have a little more conviction in the dying stages of the third period and if their effort on home ice in both games three and four are any indication the Rangers should be playing with a ton of confidence in this game. Henrik Lundqvist will need to outduel Craig Anderson here and while the latter has been up and down in these playoffs he is more than capable of stealing a game for his team as we have seen a number of times of the years.
The Sens are 12-5 in their last 17 games overall and 7-3 in their last 10 against the Eastern Conference while the Rangers are perfect in their last four home games and 15-6 after allowing five or more goals in their previous outing. This game is shaping up to be another battle and my play on the side will be available at Sports Chat Experts. As for the total I like this one to revert back to form as the goalies take over and keep this one under.
