Right now the New York Rangers are finally playing some solid hockey and they're doing it with Henrik Lundqvist still not on the top of his game. On Friday night they hosted the Dallas Stars and Lundqvist allowed two more questionable goals before he was bailed out by his team. New York trailed on two different occassions in this one, once with Ryan Callahan tying the game in the first period, and then Derrick Brassard adding a power play marker in the second. With the game tied 2-2 in the third it took New York until there were just a few minutes remaining in regulation to get the game winner. Rick Nash went hard to the net and fought for a rebound, just getting enough of the puck and lifting over Kari Lehtonen's shoulder to give the Rangers the 3-2 win. The positive is that New York is finding ways to win hockey games right now with their star goaltender still not clicking on all cylinders. The negative is that the Rangers are still waiting for Lundqvist to get going. Mats Zuccarello continued his excellent play by assisting on Brassard's power play goal in the second period that tied the game. Sunday night they'll play a huge game against the rival Flyers who are currently one point ahead of them in the Atlantic Division standings. Philadelphia played on home ice on Saturday afternoon and struggled defensively against a Tampa Bay Lightning club that can make you look very bad if you're not on the top of your game. The Flyers trailed 2-0 in the second period before Jakub Voracek got them on the board. The Lightning would score and increase their lead back to two but Wayne Simmonds' power play goal and Voracek's second of the night made it 3-3. The tie game lasted less than a minute as the Lightning regained the lead and went on to a 6-3 win in this one. Steve Mason allowed five goals on 17 shots in this one before giving way to Ray Emery. It wasn't a typical performance from Mason who has been extremely solid this season and is a big reason why Philadelphia is where they are at this point. The Flyers will need to clean things up in their own end in this one because the Rangers have been doing a great job in the transitiion game and using their speed to create opportunities. This one should be a lot of fun on Sunday night.

Pick:
New York -136

On July 1, 2008 I typed into Google "How Do I start A Blog" and I started my first website called "Miami Mitch's Place" where i shared my college football Picks and predictions as well as opinion. By the Fall I had heard from many that the title made it sound like the site was about Miami so I changed it to "College Football Place" (cfbplace.com), After the 2008 college football season I change focus and launched CBBplace.com, it wasn't long after that when I realized I just wanted one place to add all sports, and that's when Sports Chat Place was born.

This site is a big Thank You to all of our readers, visitors, and community where we have been given a platform to talk to the masses about sports and hopefully help put you on some winners. If you need to reach me just shoot an email to [email protected]
