Friday NHL action features the St. Louis Blues taking the ice at the New York Rangers.

The St. Louis Blues have won four straight after topping the visiting Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 on Monday. William Karlsson scored in the second period for Vegas and Malcolm Subban took the loss with three goals allowed on 22 shots.

Ivan Barbashev, Ryan O’Reilly and Zach Sanford found the back of the net for the Blues. Eight players logged points for St. Louis and Jordan Binnington picked up the win with a 24 save performance.

The struggles of the New York Rangers continued in a 6-3 loss at Boston on Wednesday that saddled the team with losses in 13-15. Mika Zibaanejad scored twice for New York with Ryan Strome adding a marker. Strome also had an assist for the Rangers and Henrik Lundqvist allowed six goals on 32 shots.

David Pastrnak led the Bruins with a hat trick with Jake DeBrusk, Patrice Bergeron and Charlie McAvoy also reaching the scoring column. Pastrnak, David Krejci and Torey Krug posted two assists each while Brad Marchand added three helpers to make a winner of Jaroslav Halak and his 20 stops.

Blues are 10-3 in their last 13 vs. Eastern Conference and Blues are 10-3 in their last 13 vs. a team with a losing record and Blues are 14-5 in their last 19 games following a win.

Rangers are 16-35 in their last 51 overall and Rangers are 1-5 in their last 6 home games and Rangers are 1-11 in their last 12 vs. Western Conference.

Blues are 8-3 in the last 11 meetings in New York and under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings.

I hate backing high road chalk because anything can happen but the Blues can wrap up a playoff spot with a win so I’m looking at St. Louis…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
