The Lightning look for lucky win number 13 on the season on Monday night as they head into MSG to take on the Rangers in the lone NHL game of the day.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been coasting through their regular season schedule through the first six weeks and currently find themselves three points back of the idle Canadiens for top spot in the Atlantic division but they do have a game in hand. The Bolts are one of the most exciting teams to watch in the offensive zone as Steven Stamkos headlines a well balanced unit that is among the league's best and when rookie Jonathan Drouin finds his stride the team will have another dynamic piece to an already exciting core. Ben Bishop has stolen some headlines away from Stamkos and the like as his play has helped orchestrate the early season success for Tampa and if he can continue his strong play in the crease than the Lightning would move into a serious contender role and perhaps even emerge as the favourite come playoff time. Bishop is expected to start tonight as he will go up against Henrik Lundqvist for New York.
The Rangers meanwhile are the defending Eastern Conference champions and will look to repeat as such this year but they are currently sitting in third place in the Metro division and have lost back to back games in overtime. New York did lose a few pieces from last year's team and are perhaps returning back to form as to most they aren't considered a contender in the Eastern Conference but there is still a lot of hockey to be played and if they can get Martin St. Louis rolling than they could very well chase down the Penguins for the division lead. Henrik Lundqvist has been good but not great in the New York cage and he will have to be on point in this one as the Lightning can score with the best of them and they will be out looking for an early goal to quiet down the New York fans. This game is at a pick em right now and I think that's the best value we're going to see on Tampa who I think is the better team and should get it done here.
