The Rangers look to extend their winning streak to nine games on Sunday as they welcome the surging Maple Leafs to MSG.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have won three games in a row including a convincing win against the Vancouver Canucks at home last night but face a much different monster in this one as they head into New York to battle the Rangers. The Buds are expected to finish at or near the bottom of the league standings this season but they have actually looked pretty good of late and if they can follow up last night's win and escape the Big Apple with a victory against the Metro leading Rangers it would be a huge confidence booster moving forward. Jonathan Bernier is expected to get the call between the pipes as James Reimer started last night as he will go up against Henrik Lundqvist.
The Rangers have picked up right where they left off last season and look even deeper than the team that lost in the Eastern Conference final last year which is a scary thought for the rest of the league this season. New York is 8-1-1 at home so far this season and hold a five point lead on the Capitals for top spot in the division heading into Sunday's game action and with the Leafs sporting a modest 3-4-2 mark on the road it makes sense that the Blue Shirts are big favourites in this spot. There is no value on the Rangers in this game so the better option is on the total and with Bernier playing for his job and the Leas playing last night I think this one stays under the number.
