|Date & Time||Saturday November 1, 2014, 7:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: New York Rangers -177 / Winnipeg Jets +161 --- Over/Under: 5
The Winnipeg Jets will be a long way from home when they take the ice at Madison Square Garden to face the New York Rangers.
The Winnipeg Jets continue their road trip with a stop to face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. The Jets look to get back in the win column following a 2-1, shootout defeat at New Jersey on Thursday night which snapped an 18 game losing streak in shootouts. This might have been one Winnipeg let get away as they led until 3:27 left in regulation when Michael Ryder snapped a wrist shot past Ondrej Pavelec as he was falling to his knees. The game winner came off the stick of Jacob Josefson who was the only player to light the lamp in the shootout. Blake Wheeler scored for the Jets with Pavelec stopping 27 shots in the loss with Cory Schneider recording 24 stops in defeat.
The New York Rangers look for a win over the visiting Winnipeg Jets in Saturday night NHL action. The Rangers are coming off a momentum building 5-4 victory over Minnesota behind a five goal third period explosion to stun the Wild who entered the final 20 minutes with a 3-0 lead. Minnesota received goals from Jason Pominville, Jason Tucker, Matt Cooke and Nate Prosser with Darcy Kuemper and the defense disappearing in the third. The Rangers saw Derick Brassard and Mats Zuccarello score and post two assists with Anthony Duclair, Kevin Klein and Rick Nash each lighting the lamp with the latter two posting helpers. Kuemper allowed all five goals on 20 shots to absorb the loss while Henrik Lundqvist stopped 26 shots to get the victory.
The under is 6-1 in Jets last 7 games playing on 1 days rest with the Jets are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning record while the over is 5-1 in Jets last 6 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. For the New York the Rangers are 4-0 in their last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and are 1-5 in their last 6 Saturday games while the Rangers are 1-5 in their last 6 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. Head to head the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings while the Jets are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in New York. The trends give the edge to the over and Winnipeg and I'll give Winnipeg a look until goalies are confirmed...
