NHL News: Player News and Updates for 2/10/15

We’ve got a busy evening coming up in the NHL, with nine games on the schedule. While we’re waiting on those pucks to drop, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there in the headlines.

Jordan Eberle, RW, Edmonton Oilers: Eberle had a nice game yesterday, posting a pair of assists and four shots on goal during the Oilers’ 2-1 win over the Devils at Prudential Center.
Net-minder Ben Scrivens posted his first road victory of the year on 13 saves for a 10-17-7 record. The Oilers are now 15-30-9 and coming off a rare complete game where everyone played well. We’ll see if they can keep it going.

Dwight King, LW, Los Angeles Kings: King posted a goal and an assist against the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena last night, earning first-star honors in a 4-3 victory. Together with Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli the trio had three goals and five points overall for the 23-18-12 Kings.
L.A. won the last two games of their five-game trip to go 2-3 overall. It was their first time winning back-to-back games since December 18-20.

Mikko Koivu, C, Minnesota Wild: The Wild’s offense was certainly on point last night against the Canucks at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Koivu bagged three assists in the 5-3 victory while Jason Pominville and Ryan Suter each scored much-needed goals.
It wasn’t all roses for 26-20-6 Minnesota, however. The team lost both Ryan Carter and Jason Zucker to injury in the first period.

Lance Bouma, C, Calgary Flames: The Flames are now in second place in the Pacific and looking to close the gap further following a 4-1 win over the Sharks at SAP Center last night.
Bouma posted a goal and an assist in helping Calgary move to 30-21-3, while Jonas Hiller made 33 saves in a strong defensive effort.
The Sharks and Flames are each tied at 63 points, but Calgary gets the nod in the standings due to a game in hand.
