We’ve got a pretty good evening of NHL hockey ahead of us, with seven games on the schedule for tonight. With that said, let’s take our daily look around the league and see who’s in the news. Here’s the latest.

Ryan McDonagh, D, New York Rangers: What a wild game this was. The Rangers and Islanders played through a postseason atmosphere last night at Nassau Coliseum, with the Rangers emerging 6-5 on a close one. They were down by two goals two separate times but fought back in the end.
McDonagh posted a pair of goals in this fast-paced matchup, while Kevin Klein added a goal and an assist.

Andrej Nestrasil, C, Carolina Hurricanes: This one was tight for a while, then the Hurricanes broke it open in the third for a 6-3 victory at Canadian Tire Centre last night. Nestrasil posted a goal and two assists, while teammate Michal Jordan added a score and helper of his own.
Robin Lehner and Clarke MacArthur were both injured in a collision in this one and didn’t return to the game.

Matt Duchene, C, Colorado Avalanche: The Avalanche have been doing pretty well when it comes to scoring lately, and that continued last night against the Coyotes at Pepsi Center. Duchene put up a goal and an assist in the 5-2 victory, while Jarome Iginla added a pair of helpers himself.
The Avalanche have scored 15 goals the past four games and now move to 24-22-11 on the season so far.

Dwight King, LW, Los Angeles Kings: The defending champion Kings eked out a 3-2 victory on Jeff Carter’s game-winning goal in the third last night against the Lightning at Staples Center. King added a pair of assists in the victory to help L.A. get to 26-18-12 on the season.
The Kings have won five straight games.
