After just two games last night, the NHL floodgates are opening up this evening. We’ve got a whopping 11 matchups to look forward to in the coming hours, but in the meantime let’s check out our daily wrap-up to see who’s in the news right now.
Cory Schneider, G, New Jersey Devils: Schneider was on point last night against the Coyotes, posting 38 saves in a 3-0 shutout. Mike Cammalleri (two goals) and Scott Gomez (goal) provided the scoring.
Jersey is cruising right now; they’ve won four straight games to get to 25-26-9. They’re still eight points out of the Wild Card slots though.
Francois Beauchemin, D, Anaheim Ducks: The other game last night was a little more competitive, ending in a 4-3 Ducks win over the Red Wings in a shootout. Beauchemin scored his seventh goal of the year as part of a three-goal third that got the Ducks back in the game.
Anaheim moves to 38-16-7 with the win; they’re 26-0-7 in one-goal games, which is an amazing stat.
Krejci Injury: Let’s finish things up today by checking out the new information on Bruins center David Krejci. It’s bad news: he’ll be out for the next 4-6 weeks due to a partialy torn MCL in his left knee.
Krejci was hurt in a loss to the Blues last Friday. He’s missed out on several games due to injury this year, and the team is 9-9-3 without him on the ice.
