Sean Monahan, C, Calgary Flames: The Flames are now in the second Wild Card spot in the West, thanks to a big victory over the Devils 3-1 at Prudential Center last night.
Monahan posted a goal and an assist in the win, helping the Flames overcome a three-game losing streak and move to 33-24-4 on the season.
Net-minder Karri Ramo put up 26 saves on 27 shots.

Evgeni Malkin, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins came into this one being outscored by the Capitals 10-1 in the season series. They were able to avoid a sweep on a 4-3 win at Verizon Center last night.
Malkin put up three assists, while Patric Hornqvist, Brandon Sutter, Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz posted goals.
The Pens are now 35-17-9 on the season.

Mika Zibanejad, C, Ottawa Senators: Zibanejad put up a goal last night as the Ottawa Senators beat the Ducks 3-0. The defense was led by rookie goalie Andrew Hammond, who posted 25 saves in his first NHL shutout.
